Main tasks and responsibilities

Working as an Embedded Software Engineer within ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems means that you will become part of a dedicated and dynamic team with a diverse skill set. We create cutting edge software by enhancing the Embedded Software Platform for our Sliding Doors, Swing Doors and Revolving Doors.

Your primary mission will be to design, implement and test software for our IoT End Node and Gateway, that act as an interface to connect our entrance systems to a cloud based dashboard. In the process of doing that, you will also be adapting drivers and hardware abstraction layers while developing the logic behind the door operating process at a more strategic level.

You can expect to work closely with the Electronics Engineers and to have daily communication with both external and internal stakeholders such as test houses, production units (China, the Czech and the US) and project members.

This position is full time and located in Landskrona, Sweden, five to ten minutes’ walk from the train station. You will be part of a team of approx. 8-9 persons and report to our R&D Manager for Sweden.

Background and personal qualities

You have a collaborative mindset and enjoy contributing to a team by accomplishing related results as needed but you also have the ability to work independently when needed. You cope quickly with change and are willing to learn new skills that the situations require.

You have:

• a few years of similar working experience
• a relevant education (Master of Science or equivalent)
• at least three years of C/C++ programming experience
• working proficiency in both English and Swedish

Valuable experience:

• bus communication protocols
• wireless communication protocols
• cellular communication
